Mental illness is a medical condition that affects your mood, thinking, behavior, and daily functioning. Mental illness is a serious medical condition that can result in diminished capacity to cope with the ordinary demands of life. Mental illness does not discriminate and can affect any race, age, sex, religion, sexual orientation, and those under any socio-economic levels. Serious mental illnesses include depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, substance abuse and borderline disorder.
